How can I get in a class?
After reading the information on our home page and enrollment procedures, call 951-736-8179 or use our online registration to enroll in a class. We accept credit card, check/money order or cash. If paying by check or money order, mail to Ride Rite @P.O. Box 874 Norco, Ca 92860 we must recieve your payment within 3 business days.

What is your class schedule?
We have a number of classes available, both during the week and on the weekends.
Depending on the location you choose.

The course consists of 15 hrs. You will do 5 hrs in Classroom, you will then have 2, 5 hr sessions of on motorcycle training.

Can I be put on stand-by to get into an earlier class?
Yes, you can be placed on stand-by for any class. You must call the office to be put on the stand-by roster. You will be told to go to the first classroom session. If an enrolled student is late or does not show up, individuals from the stand-by roster are able to fill the spot.

How much does it cost?
  • 21 and older: $250.00
  • At least 15 years 6 months and younger than 21 years old: $150.00

  • What do I need to bring to the classroom?
    For the classroom session you need to bring:

  • a pen
  • glasses... if you need them for viewing slides, video monitors and/or paperwork.

    If you are under 18 years old, you will also need to bring a parent or guardian to the beginning of the class to sign a waiver.

  • What do I need when riding the motorcycle?
    To participate in the riding activities, the following is required:
  • Long denim pants or material of equivalent durability (no holes, cutouts, sweats, or tights).
  • Leather gloves that cover the fingers and wrist (no cloth gloves).
  • Leather shoes or boots that cover the ankle ( no spike heels, platform shoes, or cloth shoes.)
  • A long sleeve shirt or jacket.
  • bring eye protection ( sunglasses, eye glasses, googles and/or face shiels are acceptable.)
  • Bring plenty to drink to both classrooms and riding sessions, for drinks are NOT provided.

  • Do you supply motorcycles?
    Yes, we do provide motorcycles for the Basic Rider Course.

    Do I need a helmet?
    We have helmets if you need one.
    You are free to bring your own helmet.It must meet DOT standards. We require full face or 3/4 helmets only, no half helmets!
    You will also need eye protection.

    Do I get a copy of the Rider's Handbook?
    Yes, you will be given a copy at the first class session, which is yours to keep, take notes, etc.

    How old do I have to be to learn to ride?
    You must be at least 15 years 6 months old. You must also:
  • Be in good health
  • Be able to ride a bicycle
  • Understand basic written and oral English.
  • Must complete the 50 hour driver "driving" education program and have permit from DMV.

  • Is the Ride Rite an MSF site?
    Ride Rite Motorcycle Training conducts the California State program for beginning and experienced riders. We follow the Motorcycle Safety Foundation curriculum adopted for California Motorcyclist Safety Program.

    What size bikes do you use?
    We use 125 cc up to 350 cc training motorcycles.

    Do I have to be a certain height?
    We have no minimum height restrictions.
    However, riders are required to be able to touch both feet to the ground while straddling the motorcycle.
    Riders must also be able to hold the bike up when stopping or walking the motorcycle.

    Can I ride my own bike (or scooter)?
    Students can use their own motorcycle, as long as it is 350 cc or less. Current registration and proof of insurance (minimum required by law) will need to be provided prior to riding on the range. The motorcycle must also be in mechanically sound condition and will be inspected at the beginning of the riding day.

    If I change my mind, can I get my money back?
    Ride Rite Motorcycle Training enrollment fees are non-refundable for any reason.
    You can drop your enrollment in a class and become a stand-by Student for up to 6 months. Stand-by does not guarantee your seat, please schedule your time.
    Last minute cancelations will result in a $75.00 reschedule fee.

    What happens if I'm late or don't show for a class?
    Classes start promptly! This is a state program and students are not allowed to arrive late. If you were to arrive late or miss a session you will be asked to leave the program.
    If you are asked to leave the program, we will make every attempt to place you in another class however you will be charged the $75.00 reschedule fee.

    What's the pass rate?
    Ride Rite has a 93% pass rate with our students.
    Not everyone completes the course the first time.
    You may repeat the course at no additional charge if you don't pass or are asked to repeat a session. However if you DO NOT show up to any potion of the class or ranges there will be a $75.00 reschedule fee.

    Will I have to go to the DMV for my license after I pass?
    Yes, Ride Rite Motorcycle Training is a California State sub-contracted motorcycle education training center, recognized by the DMV for our teaching quality and dedication to safety. Upon successful completion of the class, you will be mailed a DL389 certificate, you take that to DMV and it will waive the skills test but you are required to take their written test.

    Can I take the course with an out of state ?
    Yes. As long as your license is valid, you may take our course. However, not all states recognize the California completion certificate for the issuing of the motorcycle endorsement. Check with your state's DMV regarding the required certification.

    Do some companies reimburse you for classes?
    Yes, some dealerships and bike manufacturers may offer a rebate program to encourage you to take the safety course. Once you complete our course, you are issued a completion card and a DL 389. A copy of your completion card and receipt (upon request) serves as proof of registration in our course.

    How about discounts on insurance?
    Many insurance companies offer a discount for successful completion of the Basic Riders Course or the Experienced Rider Course. Your Completion card will serve as proof of completion. Please check with your insurance companys to see if they honor this.

    How long do I have to get my license from DMV?
    There is no time limit to obtain your license from the DMV.

    How long do I have to complete course?
    You have 6 months from the date you sign up to complete this course. After 6 months you will have to start over and pay the fee again.
